Our beach cabins at Drake Bay Lodge are located right on a small cliff facing the Pacific with beautiful views all around!
Today we took an ocean boat ride to Corcovado National Park. Corcovado is considered the crown jewel of Costa Rica's national parks system due to its intense biodiversity. We saw: a sloth, howler monkeys, many many macaws, spider monkeys, several coatis, hawks, herons, basilisks, thousands of crabs, dolphins, golden orb spiders, & then tasted termites (not kidding)!
After hiking for 3 miles, we splashed & dipped in the pools of a big waterfall! It was a lot fun.
Lunch was served family style by the beach. All 20 of us + our guides sat together at one giant picnic table & passed delicious plates around of chicken, pasta salad, fresh pineapple & sliced veggies!
Once we got back to hotel, we all went swimming in the ocean & a few of us practiced opening coconuts!
Welcoming on Friday afternoon by Drake Bay. We were greeted with a watermelon beverage, a cold towel to clean off the wind / saltwater grit, & appetizers by the bar!
The Lodge dog - groomed like a lion.
Success - coconut opened!
