2/17 was a day! We left Cahuita for Panama and had to cross the border by foot. It was a process and took longer than expected - of course. You have to exit CR and then enter into Panama, which means two different lines, fees, paperwork, etc. Our bus had to drive in w/out us while we walked across a bridge along with the dozens of Chiquita trucks! Because of the rain, we had to rearrange one of our national park visits, but watched the introductory information about San San Pond Sak Park and the manatees. We will go back to see the manatees on Monday.
After a bus ride, immigration lines, and a boat ride, we made it to our hotel on Colon Island of Bocas del Toro. The kids really love the space and being able to swim right off our dock! We did some shopping and had dinner at a cool outdoor pizza restaurant. We ended the night with an up close viewing of a long fireworks show!
2/18 Snorkel day! We got LUCKY lucky today - the rain stopped, the sun came out, and we headed out for a morning of snorkeling in a reef area. Everyone has said today was awesome!
