What a morning! We awoke in the rainforest with pouring rain - imagine! There's a saying in Spanish that goes "A mal tiempo, buena cara." "When the weather is bad, put on a good face." This is how Don Juan greeted us this morning.
We had a very typical Costa Rican breakfast: gallo pinto (rice, black bean mix), eggs, cheese slice, pineapple and sweet plantains with farm-to-table coffee & a flowing river as our breakfast view! Not bad : )
We spent all morning experiencing the Don Juan farm. The kids got to feel, taste, experiment & play!
Some brave ones even voluntarily did a pepper taste test - milk chasers on hand just in case!
A few lessons in Geometry - using the land to understand why pie is 3.14. Also, learned how to use nature as make-up! The Geometry lessons were actually amazing and so inspiring that the parents (with us) want to recreate this on WL's campus!
Play time in the rain.
The Faccones get the award for best-prepared on such a rainy day!
Las Vacas: Mocha & Chocolate are their names! Alonso explained to us the full circle use of the cow.
