Day 3 / Feb 13 / lunch on the farm

Putting the kids to work on the farm! They squeezed the sugar cane to make juice - it's tough work. The kids got to try sugar cane in three different forms: juice, paste, & the cane itself.



After a morning's worth of learning how an organic farm works, the kids went to work in the kitchen preparing their own lunch. They picked yuca roots, tumeric, basil, pepper to add to our lunch.


Lunch was excellent & fueled us up for ziplining! Because you're flying through the air 300 ft above ground with hands on your equipment there are no pics BUT I asked each student one word to describe the experience when they were coming back from the canopy tour and here are the responses: awesome, terrifying, cold, crying (that was actually Ms. Morgan), fantastic, thrilling, loved it.
