Two things from yesterday - first: the Maleku Indian Village. The Maleku are the smallest indigenous group in Costa Rica - about 600 members left. They have their own language and school where they learn the culture & language of the people. They also make masks of spirit animals because they believe that everyone has a spirit animal that represents their soul. 100% of the money earned from the masks & other wood works goes to their people.
The second thing was the Hot Springs visit - which I have no pictures of! It's hot water and not ideal for the camera, but everyone was in HEAVEN. The town of La Fortuna is known for many resorts, spas and day parks situated around all of the natural hot springs - heated by the volcanoes. We went at night and after a long, active day, it was glorious!! Highly recommended by all :)
Dancing and singing have been a big part of our trip - thanks to Joe. Here you'll see "Love is in the air" during breakfast and "Bohemian Rhapsody" sing along on the bus! The kids are either singing right along or completely embarrassed by their parent!
TODAY - Valentines Day: It was really rainy in the Arenal region, which is very unusual for this time of year. Everyone was ready for sunshine and heat - which by the way is considered "bad weather" for Ticos! We drove down south to the Pacific coast and made our first stop at Tarcoles River Tours. Our main goal - don't get eaten by a croc!
